Cookie Exchange Recipe December 3, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — sarahvonderhaar @ 4:39 am

I’m hosting a cookie exchange this weekend and thought I’d share my recipe with you… A little sneak peak for my girls!

What You Need

4 bananas, cut crosswise in half
12 OREO Cookies, finely chopped (about 1-1/2 cups)
2 Tbsp. colored multi-colored sprinkles
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
Make It

INSERT wooden pop stick into cut end of each banana half; set aside. Mix chopped cookies and sprinkles; set aside.

SPREAD bananas evenly with peanut butter. Roll in cookie mixture until evenly coated. Wrap individually with plastic wrap.

FREEZE 2 hours or until firm. Remove from freezer 10 min. before serving to soften slightly.

Has anyone else noticed it costs an arm and a leg to get your photo taken with Santa at the mall? We can barely afford to walk by and wave! Walmart is offering a complimentary photo with Santa December 5th and 6th from 10AM-2PM. Now that’s more like it, right? For more information check out their website. Some areas may not be participating so I’d call before you go!

Thanks Nike!

Drew and Martha November 25, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — sarahvonderhaar @ 1:55 am

My son is three, which means you never know what might come out of that sweet little mouth of his. We recently sold our dishwasher to a nice couple, and when they came to pick it up he promptly ran out the door to meet and greet. He asked the man what his name was and the man says “Jimmie,” what’s yours? Of course Drew told him his full name and age. Then he asked the woman what her name was. She says “Martha.” Drew gave a sour face and says “I don’t like that name!” I thought I was going to break out in hives and wanted to crawl into the nearest corner and hide. I tried to explain to her he had never heard that name and that he was only three. I’m thankful he’s so innocent yet truthful. But have a feeling I should prepare myself for future incidents!

Pretty in Pink November 17, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — sarahvonderhaar @ 4:09 am

My husband has come a long way since we first got married. Four houses, two children and countless pets later I found him doing something I NEVER thought I would… Growing up in his family meant when you needed something done you simply picked up the phone and hired someone to do it. However, my father is a a contractor and we did (still do) everything ourselves. Not sure if this is the first time my husband has ever held a paint roller, but I’m positive it’s the first with pale pink on the end of it. The things we do for our kids!
